The Detroit Public Schools Community District Foundation, alongside Roy and Maureen Roberts, has created an opportunity for DPSCD graduating seniors of $1,500.  The recipient must have been accepted to an accredited 4-year higher educational institution. To receive the funds, the student must be enrolled at the college or university full-time.  The scholarship is renewable for 3 additional years, once the DPSCD Foundation verifies that the student is in good academic standing. The Roy and Maureen Roberts scholarship may be used towards tuition, fees, books, and housing.  
 

Application Requirements:  

  • Complete the online application 
  • Must be a graduating senior from DPSCD 
  • A letter of recommendation by a DPSCD teacher, counselor, or principal 
  • Official transcript 
  • Acceptance letter and class registration 
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA 
  • Students will be required to submit a 1-page APA formatted personal statement explaining: 
    • A personal achievement that you are proud of 
    • Your academic goals 
    • Where do you see yourself in five years 

Application Deadline is May 13, 2024  

All documents need to be submitted in PDF format. 

All scholarships funds will be distributed to the institute directly.
