At the heart of this gala is the enduring spirit of Tyrone E. Winfrey Sr., a man whose life was a testament to service and community unity. Born and raised in Detroit, Tyrone’s journey as a DPS scholar from Hampton Elementary through Cass Technical High School laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to education and community engagement. As a passionate advocate for youth and education, he significantly impacted the Detroit area, bringing the promise of higher education closer to home. His work at Michigan State University and the University of Michigan showcased his dedication to guiding thousands of young minds towards their potential.

Immerse yourself in an enchanting night at Samuel C. Mumford High School on Saturday, May 11. The festivities kick off witha VIP Reception at 6:00 pm, followed by the main event from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Experience stationed dinner, liveperformances, DJ sets, activations, and a complimentary bar with refreshments. Dress in cocktail attire for a memorablecelebration.
What is the dress code for the gala?
The dress code is cocktail attire. We encourage guests to dress elegantly for the occasion, whether that means a stylishcocktail dress, a suit, or your preferred evening wear.
