So often we get so involved in our daily routines that we forget to pause and think about different ways that we might make a contribution to our community. Martin Luther King Day in January offers us the opportunity to think of others, join with family and friends, develop new relationships, and have fun while we make a difference.

The phrase “A Day on, Not a Day off” has frequently been used to describe the value of this day of celebration. It is a day of hands-on volunteering. It is a day of reflecting on the work of Dr. King. It is a day of coming together to strengthen our communities.

If you have volunteer opportunities that you would like for us to share via our DPS Alumni network, please forward them to info@dpsfdn.org. If you would like to make a donation in support of an agency in our schools, you may do so at www.dpsfdn.org just hit the donate button. No matter how you choose to be involved, we ask that you show that you care, by doing something.
