Yahoo News: Detroit school’s auto training center gets $1M donation from Joel Landy Foundation

A college and career readiness school in Detroit received a $1 million investment to enhance its automotive education programming, helping pave the way for the next generation of professionals.

The Joel Landy Foundation donated the funds to the Breithaupt Career and Technical Center on Hubbell Avenue, which serves students in grades 10-12, the Detroit Public Schools Community District Foundation announced Thursday.

“The gift will provide increased funding to support Breithaupt’s automotive programming and sustain the Joel Landy Automotive Training Lab,” renamed in honor of Detroit developer Joel Landy, who died in 2020 at the age of 68, according to the DPSCD Foundation.
