As an active member of the DPS Foundation Board of Directors, a working professional, wife, and mother, I know how busy our lives can be. I also know how difficult it is for many parents to find the time and resources to take their children to the symphony, the theater, dance classes, music lessons, etc. Because I am fortunate to be able to participate with my own children in these activities, I understand how important it is for all children to have such opportunities. That is one of the reasons that I am committed to the work of the DPS Foundation.

I am proud to serve on a board with other committed individuals who support the professional development of teachers, value the arts, recognize the benefits of out-of-class experiences, and work to foster strong relationships. I am pleased that we are able to respond to requests for funds for technology, field trips, playground equipment, school uniforms, and more. I know that our work is making a difference, and I am honored to be a part of it.

The mission of the DPS Foundation is to create and enhance educational opportunities for DPS students. At a workshop that I attended a number of years ago, the presenter stated that without money, you have no mission. That is definitely true at the Foundation. To achieve our mission we must receive financial support from the community. Because I am employed in the banking world, I think of this support as an investment; an investment in our children, our families, and our community. I hope that you agree and will join me in making such an investment.
